Step-by-step guide to using 3-in-1 dishwasher tablets (which typically combine detergent + rinse aid + salt function)

Step 1

Scrape Food Off Dishes
  • Scrape leftover food into the trash or compost.
  • No need to fully pre-wash (modern machines are designed to handle some residue).
  • Remove large bones, seeds, or hard debris.

Step 2

Load the Dishwasher Properly
  • Bottom rack → plates, pots, pans (face toward spray arms).
  • Top rack → glasses, cups, small bowls.
  • Cutlery basket → mix forks/spoons for better cleaning.
  • Avoid blocking spray arms.
  • Don’t overcrowd.

Step 3

Take One 3-in-1 Tablet
  • Use only one tablet per wash.
  • Remove the wrapper if it is not dissolvable.
  • Handle tablets with dry hands so they don’t stick.

Step 4

Put the Tablet in the Detergent Dispenser
  • Open the detergent compartment (usually inside the door).
  • Place one tablet inside.
  • Close the lid firmly.

Step 5

Do not put the tablet
  • In the cutlery basket.
  • On the bottom of the dishwasher (unless the manual allows it).

Step 6

Select the Wash Program
  • For everyday loads → Eco or Normal cycle
  • Heavily soiled pots → Intensive cycle
  • Lightly soiled dishes → Quick cycle

Step 7

Start the Dishwasher
  • Close the dishwasher door properly.
  • Press Start.

  • Unload bottom rack first (so water from top rack doesn’t drip onto dry dishes).
